He would allegedly cost Manchester United around €60m but Mourinho is unwilling to pay that fee and will be looking for a deal which suits both parties.
Lindelof was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in January, but a deal broke down over negotiations of his fee, combined with the fact that Mourinho was happy in his defensive options at the time with Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo performing well.
However, following the injury crisis this season, he’ll be back in the market for some new talent, and it is yet to be seen whether Mourinho has serious plans for the 20-year-old.
Roma have also declared their interest in signing Lindelof this summer and if Ed Woodward wants to lure him to Old Trafford, he’ll have to move quickly to try and agree on a deal.
Benfica will not want many of their players to leave this summer but money talks and if they’re offered the right price, we could see Lindelof in a United shirt.
