Manchester United are leading the race to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a deal worth over £50 million, according to reports in France.
He’s been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid as he was lined up as a potential replacement for Antoine Griezmann, however, following their transfer ban, Man United have moved their interests into signing Lacazette.
Lacazette has already told Lyon he plans on leaving the club within the next few weeks and with a move to Atletico off the cards, we could see him at Old Trafford.
Man United are confident they can sign him ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool, especially as they now have Champions League football to offer following the success in the Europa League.
Mourinho will be on the lookout for a new striker this summer with Zlatan Ibrahimovic ruled out with a long-term injury and his future uncertain as he is yet to sign a new deal.
He’d be an incredible addition at Old Trafford and is exactly the type of player we need following our well-documented struggles in front of goal as he’s scored 37 goals this season, after totalling 23 and 31 in his previous two campaigns.
