Paul Pogba has joked he is angry after Antoine Griezmann all but confirmed his future rests at Atletico Madrid.
The Frenchman committed his future to the Spanish club after Manchester United cooled their interest in signing him this summer, posting a photo on social media with the caption: “Now more than ever. Atleti. All together.”
Pogba teased supporters over the prospect of Griezmann signing last week, claiming he hadn’t made the move to Old Trafford, yet, however, it now seems like the deal has made a drastic turn.
He posted a pictured hours of the duo from France training earlier in the day with the caption: “Always have my guy, angry mode, ready for tomorrow. The face tho.”
The Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the transfer ban Fifa had imposed on Atletico, and it seems like a deal fell through as Griezmann understood Diego Simeone wouldn’t be able to sign a potential replacement.
United were said to be willing to trigger the €100million release clause inserted into his contract last year and even though the situation doesn’t quite make sense, the club must work on signing an alternative.
A deal could continue next summer or it could even be a smokescreen, but a potential move does not seem likely.
