Alvaro Morata’s father has spoken out about the chances of his son joining Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
His future at Real Madrid appears to be coming to an end as he’s been playing behind Karim Benzema and has struggled to pick up much first-team game time.
He made a cameo appearance in Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League final on Saturday night and with clubs interested in signing him, he addresses a potential exit, claiming a move will be made this summer.
Speaking about the chances of a potential move, Morata Snr reacted to questions that his son could make the Old Trafford transfer.
“How do you know that?” he said.
“You are a great journalist, but I must stay silent and say nothing more.”
Jose Mourinho refused to admit who Man United are in for this summer but confirmed he had already told his chief executive Ed Woodward who he wanted.
Morata would be an excellent addition at United, especially with Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to miss the start of next season and with our well-documented struggles in front of goal, he would definitely fill a role we desperately require.
