Anthony Martial‘s agent, Philippe Lamboley, claims there’s no reason for his client to leave Manchester United, stating the only reason a deal would go through is if the club wants him to leave.
His future at Old Trafford has come under heavy speculation this season as he’s suffered from poor form and has struggled to establish himself as a first-team player.
The Frenchman has scored just eight goals for United under boss Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese boss has allegedly been on the lookout for a potential replacement.
However, Lamboley insists Martial is going nowhere and is looking to honour his contract at Old Trafford.
“Martial has two years left and there is no reason for him to leave Manchester today,” he said.
“If (United CEO) Ed Woodward tells me they want him to leave, things are different.
“But that is not what he told me during our last meeting.”
Supporters are aware of Martial’s talent following his incredible debut season in England, but he’s just struggled to keep his performances consistent after being in and out of the team.
He needs a run of games in the team where he can work on his consistency because he has all the attributes to become a top player at Old Trafford.
