Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has sent a message of good luck to Manchester United’s teenage sensation Angel Gomes.
On the last day of the season, Jose Mourinho brought Gomes off the bench against Crystal Palace to give Gomes, aged just 16, his Man United debut. In doing so, he became the youngest player since Duncan Edwards to play for United.
Gomes had a brilliant year with the U18s, captaining England’s U17s as well as making his United debut and this personal message from Ronaldinho would have made it an even more memorable one.

Wishes good luck, says he's been following his career and they will get to know each other soon.

Gomes is one of a talented crop of U18s working under Kieran McKenna. The likes of Indy Boonen and Joshua Bohui are also cracking talents who I’m looking forward to seeing break through in the future but as for Gomes he’s been thrust into the spotlight at an incredibly young age.
But it’s nothing new to Gomes. He has played at the in the age group above himself in every academy side so far and repeated that by playing for United’s senior team when he should be breaking into the U18s. The future looks very bright for Gomes and Ronaldinho’s personal message goes to show Gomes is already known all around the world…despite not being old enough to buy a can of cider.
