Zlatan Ibrahimovic has posted a message to social media following confirmation of his release by Manchester United.
He is currently recovering from knee ligament damage and had not been offered an extension to his Old Trafford deal as he is expected to miss the start of next season on the sidelines.
The big Swede has since made it clear he’s not ready to give up on his footballing career as he posted a video on Instagram to emphasise the point that he’s still hoping to play again.
Following his injury against Anderlecht in April, many knew Mourinho would be on the lookout to bolster his attacking options this summer to try and fill the role of the player who scored 28 goals in his debut season at United.
He has come to Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as a deal is expected to be completed soon because Mourinho identified him as the player who will lead the attack at Old Trafford.
Zlatan could make the move to America with MLS clubs already targeting him but he’ll be utilising the resources at United as he continues his rehabilitation, before a decision is made as he could still play at United again due to the fact that he’ll be a free agent at the time.
