Real Sociedad confident of signing Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj – report

Real Sociedad are confident of securing the services of ostracised Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj this summer, according to reports from Spain.

The Belgian was offloaded to Sunderland last summer on a season-long loan after failing to impress Jose Mourinho and, following a nine month period that saw the Black Cats suffer relegation and Januzaj score just one goal, finds himself in even murkier territory at Old Trafford.

Several reports have suggested that Man United are willing to listen to offers for the 22-year-old, who will be told to find a new club over the next week.

And according to Spanish outlet Marca, Sociedad are confident of giving the winger, valued at €10m by Man United, an exit route this summer.

My commentary of Januzaj over the last few months has, I admit, been perhaps a bit over-admonishing. The emphasis has centred around his inability to produce consistently when placed up against the daily grind of life in the Premier League, and that remains very much true.

On the flip-side, however, the future still teems with opportunity for Januzaj. The Premier League may not be the right fit for him, but perhaps a move to the more technically oriented, less furious La Liga – where Andreas Pereira excelled with Granada last summer – could see him unlock the potential that has frustratingly failed to surface over the last three years.
