Manchester United have agreed a deal with AS Monaco worth €45m for full-back Fabinho, according to reports.
The 23-year-old – capable of featuring at both full-back and in defensive midfield – has been an indispensable aspect of Monaco’s approach over the last few years and played an instrumental role in their title success last season, making 55 appearances.
And according to Emanuele Giulianelli, a deal has now been agreed for Fabinho’s services, with the process set to be completed once he returns from holiday.

We may not even be halfway through June, but a clear pattern is emerging between all of Mourinho’s targets: the Portuguese is not necessarily after world beaters; he is, in fact, interested in a more industrious, highly energetic type capable of not just maintaining the required level of intensity next season but also developing further – learning on the job, if you will, crafted in Mourinho’s image.
This is indeed where Fabinho comes in: the Brazilian simultaneously offers a clear dynamic of quick feet and intelligence but, somewhat tantalisingly, will only improve at the age of just 23.
