Manchester United hope Alvaro Morata will have his medical this week – report

Manchester United hope Alvaro Morata will have a medical this week following promising talks with Real Madrid this weekend, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho will be looking to bolster his attacking options this summer as Zlatan Ibrahimovic was recently released by the club following his serious knee injury.

Morata has become a top target at Old Trafford since Antoine Griezmann decided to remain in Madrid with Atletico following their recent transfer ban.

Real Madrid are hoping to pick up a fee of around £78m as they look to increase their pursuit of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, however, United are looking to wrap up a deal for under £70m.

Reports claim talks between both clubs progressed massively over the weekend to suggest he will arrive in Manchester to finalise a deal before the end of the week.

He’s scored 20 goals across all competitions last season in 1585 game minutes, which gives him a rate of around one goal every 79 minutes.

Not many understand his true talent as he’s been behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order, but he’s always picked up goals even during a lack of game time and will be an exceptional addition at Old Trafford.
