Paul Pogba has spoken out in praise of AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma after it was revealed the teenager wouldn’t renew his contract with the Serie A side.
The 18-year-old, who made his Milan debut two years ago, has rejected a new deal at the San Siro and will move elsewhere instead, with Real Madrid serving as the most obvious option.
Man United have, however, expressed interest in Donnarumma as a replacement for David de Gea if the Spaniard moves to the Bernabeu instead this summer.
And Pogba, speaking in defence of Donnarumma after the Italian was criticised for turning his back on Milan, noting that he will soon be the best keeper in the world.
But the question that remains is, well, where? A combination of reports suggesting De Gea would not push for a move away from Old Trafford and the 18-year-old rejecting a new deal at Milan points towards the latter replacing Keylor Navas in goal next season.
However, with some reports suggesting that a mammoth £183m offer plus De Gea could be offered for the joint services of Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata, Pogba may well end up playing with the Italian instead.
