Adnan Januzaj set to complete move to Real Sociedad – report

by Leo Nieboer

Manchester United outcast Adnan Januzaj will complete a move to Real Sociedad after the two clubs agreed on an €11m fee for the Belgian, according to reports.

Reports earlier this summer suggested that Jose Mourinho, who sent the 22-year-old to Sunderland on loan last summer, would listen to offers for the winger following a poor campaign at the Stadium of Light.

Sociedad’s president Jokin Aperribay recently confirmed that the La Liga side were interested in Januzaj but noted that the club would wait to hear Man United’s stance on the winger first.

And according to France Football, Januzaj will complete a move to Spain this summer after failing to impress Mourinho.

The sight of a once promising youngster moving on to pastures new normally invokes a feeling of sympathy – it does for me, at least.

Not with Januzaj. The youngster demonstrated his frightening talent to the watching world over three and a half years ago with a brace on his full debut against Sunderland and has since gone on to struggle at both Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland after being deemed not good enough by Louis van Gaal, managing just three goals since that October evening on Wearside.

There is, of course, still plenty of time for him to prove me wrong, but Januzaj has demonstrated emphatically that he is not good enough for the Premier League – let alone United.
