Besiktas say they’ve not been informed of Anderson Talisca to Man United

by Sam Peoples

Besiktas club official Metin Albayrak has said the club has not been informed of Anderson Talisca’s move to Manchester United.

Reports in Turkey this week suggested Talisca, 22, has agreed personal terms with Man United ahead of a transfer this summer to join Jose Mourinho‘s side.

However, Albayrak denies anything is in place at this stage as far as Benfica are concerned.

“Well every player’s dreams of playing in the Premier League or La Liga but Talisca has another year with us,” told Turkish-Football.

“We have to be informed of any transfers, it cannot go ahead without us at the table, we have not been informed of a Man United deal.”

Talisca is currently on a two-year loan deal at Besiktas from Portuguese side Benfica and there is a €25m purchase clause in that contract but Besiktas aren’t expected to be able to meet that valuation at this stage, so there will be other clubs interested in signing him – United are one such club to be linked with him.

This is not the first player this summer who has reportedly agreed terms with United prior to a fee being agreed with the club because the same thing has been reported about Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. Of course, neither of those players have joined yet either.

We’ll follow this Talisca story to see how it continues to develop but from Besiktas’ point of view, nothing is in place yet.
