Pictures have emerged of what could be Manchester United’s official home kit for next season.

The strip features one shade of red, as opposed to the half and half design used for last season, and has Adidas stripes on the shoulders alongside the always controversial collar.

Man United revealed the away kit for next season last month, which draws inspiration from the pattern used for away strips between 1990 and 1992;

Here are a few leaked photos of what United will be wearing when they walk out to face West Ham United at Old Trafford on the first day of the season.

Firstly, I am of the opinion – an opinion you don’t have to share – that wearing your club’s shirt on a casual, day-to-day basis is a grim offence if you are above the age of 18. It just shouldn’t happen. That is my view.

From an observer’s perspective, however, this is probably by favourite United home kit since the 2010/11 campaign – the one with the collar and relatively simple body. That was the last kit I bought – as a 13-year-old, I should add.

The third kit for next season is rumoured to be white, with a design honouring the 50th anniversary of the club’s first European Cup triumph in 1968.
