The pair have been darting around the planet enjoying their break following international duty, with Lingard visiting Dubai and Los Angeles whilst Rashford was seen commandeering a speedboat in Mexico earlier this week.
They enjoyed impressive campaigns under Mourinho after both becoming first team regulars under Louis van Gaal the season before, collectively making 95 appearances and adding two more trophies to their collection in the process.
Rashford took to Instagram to post a photo of the attacking duo enjoying themselves in Miami whilst very much looking ahead to preparations for the 2017/18 campaign.
Only at United, a club that has always given opportunities to the next generation of the academy, could two friends rise to stardom in such concomitant fashion.
They are living the dream of any football obsessed youngster, starting out just like we did as kids, with our mates, pretending to be whoever it was that most captured our imagination. The only difference is that it didn’t stop there; they will now line up together in next season’s Champions League.
That would be a lot to take in; you’d surely have to stop for moment and think: This is crazy. I’m actually here.
But serial winners, as Jose Mourinho will remind them, don’t ever look back. There is still a long way to go for both, and next season promises to be defining in the context of how their United careers pan out.
