Inter Milan refusing to budge on €50m valuation of winger Ivan Perisic

by Leo Nieboer

Inter Milan are holding firm on their €50m valuation of Croatian winger Ivan Perisic and will not give Manchester United any discounts as they look to secure the 29-year-old’s services.

Ed Woodward and Co have been reportedly adamant on shelling out around €30m for the winger, who claimed 13 goals in all competitions last season, but the Serie A giants have refused to budge on their price.

Inter need to raise €26m by July 1 in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations and to avoid further financial impositions.

But according to journalist Matteo Bonetti, and backed up by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Italian side will not consider anything below their stated valuation of €50m.

I said last week that, when it comes to the standoff over Perisic, the nature of the deal will be dictated by whoever blinks first.

And after weeks of Inter proving rigid over their stance on the 29-year-old, Mourinho may just have to meet their demands and pay more than he would have liked.

The consensus appears to have changed. Beforehand, it looked like United were in the driving seat of negotiations with Inter essentially having no choice but to let Perisic leave to levy the necessary funds to avoid further financial sanctions, but now the official line seems to be: give us what we want, and fast, or there will be no deal at all.
