Anthony Martial has not met Jose Mourinho to discuss his Manchester United future

Mohamed Bouhafsi has confirmed that Anthony Martial‘s representatives have not contacted Manchester United over the 21-year-old’s future with the club.

Several reports have suggested that Arsenal, should they fail to sign either Kylian Mbappe or Alexandre Lacazette, would bid £40m for the Frenchman.

The Express reported earlier this week that Martial would inform Jose Mourinho he wants to leave the club this summer after starting less than half of United’s games over the 2016/17 season.

But Bouhafsi, the man responsible for initially revealing that Martial would move to Old Trafford back in August 2015, confirmed that no such talks took place.

We should also probably look towards the fact that Martial personally took to Twitter, just like he did earlier this year, to put an emphatic end to any rumours of a possible exit from Old Trafford.

There is something about Martial’s persona that leads many into concluding he wants to leave United: he appears too unruffled, too relaxed about everything, almost distant, to be really committed to the cause in a way that the English media can understand.

But make no mistake: the 21-year-old, on his day, is completely unstoppable and will continue to commit himself to the cause under Mourinho next season – doing so with optimal nonchalance and composure.
