Paris Saint-Germain have moved quickly in the race to sign Monaco midfielder Fabinho in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
He had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but the Old Trafford club moved too slow with a potential deal and have now been left behind.
There were reports that a £35million fee for the Fabinho had been agreed last week as the Portuguese boss looked to sign the versatile midfielder who can also play right-back.
PSG are now expected to sign the Brazilian as they’ve made significant progress on a deal for the Monaco playmaker.
With the French giants determined to reclaim their Ligue 1 title after being taken over by Monaco the last term, they’ll be looking to wrap up a deal to avoid a potential summer saga.
It’s a shame because it looked like everything was pointing towards a move to Old Trafford, but it seems like he’ll be playing elsewhere as United failed to move quick enough and close out a transfer.
Mourinho will have other targets in mind but he won’t be pleased if he misses out on a player of Fabinho’s ability, especially if an alternative will cost around the same price.
