Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has admitted that more players could leave this summer despite last season’s Ligue 1 title success.
They have already sold Nabil Dirar, who has moved to Fenerbahce, Valere Germain, who has joined domestic rivals Marseille, and Bernardo Silva, who has left for Manchester City.
Benjamin Mendy, Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho have also been massively linked with exits this summer as Europe’s elite have been in contact with Monaco.
Mbappe’s incredible rise has led speculation claiming he could become the world’s most expensive player this summer, however, Fabinho is the player we could see at Old Trafford.
Speaking about the players, Jardim insists the aim still remains the same.
“Three players have left — Dirar, Valere and Bernardo,” he said. “Other players could leave us.
“Everyone knows our project. It hasn’t changed, even if we have won the title. The project is the same. The goal is still to win.
“Nothing has changed. It’s very important for us. What matters is the training of the young players and the quality of our game.
“The only thing that changes is that we are going to start the season being defending champions.”
He’s been associated with a move to PSG, however, Monaco allegedly rejected the bid as they would not want to strengthen a rival, which also leaves United in a good position ahead of a potential transfer.
