Manchester United are ready to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
He’s only made 31 appearances for Dortmund since joining last summer and has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
AS claim Mourinho believes Bartra would fit into his starting line-up at United and is keen for the club to make an offer in the transfer window.
The Portuguese boss has already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica and it’s clear that he’s hoping to bolster his defensive options this summer as he looks to overcome a disappointing season in the Premier League last campaign.
Lindelof agreed to a four-year contract at Old Trafford last month and with a deal for Fabinho not planning out, it seems like he has already highlighted alternatives.
Especially after the injury crisis this season, Mourinho will not want to repeat the situation and if that means signing another defensive player to ensure he has enough cover to challenge for silverware on different fronts then that’s exactly what the Portuguese boss will do.
He has Champions League football to offer his new players and it seems like he’ll have no issues signing the top players, even after the calibre he acquired last summer.
