Antoine Griezmann has left the door open for a move to Manchester United next summer, claiming he doesn’t know if he’ll be with Atletico Madrid next season.
He was set to join Man United this summer as he emerged as Jose Mourinho‘s priority target, however, he decided to commit his future to Diego Simeone following the club’s transfer ban which stops them from registering new players until January.
Reports claim Man United will make a move for him next summer as his release clause still remains the same and would allow the Old Trafford club to aquire his services without paying any more fees.
Speaking about a move, Griezmann claimed it would have been dirty to leave during the transfer ban.
“To be honest, I don’t know. I’m going to be here next season, after that we’ll see,” he said.
“It’s absurd to talk about something more than a year away.
“I stayed mainly because of the ban. Atletico need me more than ever. It would be dirty to leave.
“I wouldn’t have been myself or the person that I feel I am today, if I had left the club in that way.”
It’s a shame that we couldn’t bring him to United this year, as he would have been exceptional while United look to challenge in the Premier League and Champions League.
However, a move has not been completely ruled out and there’s still every chance that we will see him in a United shirt.
