Manchester United fans delighted with Romelu Lukaku signing news

by Tanveer Arayan

Manchester United supporters were delighted with the news that a fee of around £75m had been agreed with Everton for Romelu Lukaku.

The Old Trafford club were heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata as reports claim three offers for the Spaniard had been rejected, with the highest fee thought to be around €75 million.

BBC Claim that Lukaku had remained a priority signing and the Chelsea interest in the Belgian was used as a smokescreen as they’re now expecting him to join the rest of the players for the pre-season tour of America.

Here’s what supporters on social media had to say about the new deal.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic not offered a new contract, Mourinho had stepped up his pursuit of a new striker and with Madrid playing hardball over a Morata fee, it seems like the Portuguese boss sees Lukaku as the best replacement, following his sensational performances in the Premier League.

However, Madrid were only asking for around £5m on top of what United were offering and if the club were truly trying to acquire his services, then they could have easily paid the price, it still remains to be seen why a deal collapsed the way it did.
