Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann will be on the lookout for a new agent as his long-term mentor Eric Olhats has given up his role as the player’s advisor.
Their relationship goes all the way back to when Griezmann was 14 and having his trials in Paris, he was then spotted by Olhats, who was a Real Sociedad scout.
He had stayed with Olhats as he moved to the Basque club’s academy and has acted as the Frenchman’s representative in recent years.
Speaking about their relationship, Olhats opened up about their broken down relationship.
“The recent positioning of Griezmann’s image and future is no longer in harmony with our vision as a partnership,” he told L’Equipe.
“I will focus on my role as a Real Sociedad scout. “I thank [Griezmann] for his confidence in me over the course of various years obviously I wish him the best in the next chapter of his career.”The 26-year-old has just signed a contract extension with Atletico Madrid, insisting he couldn’t leave the club during their transfer ban.
As relations between the pair have deteriorated in recent weeks, they have decided not to carry on with Olhats’ duties of being Griezmann’s sports advisor as he currently manages his career without an agent.
