Adnan Januzaj has been left out of Manchester United’s pre-season tour squad as he has been massively linked with an Old Trafford exit in the summer transfer window.
He enjoyed a rise to prominence under David Moyes, scoring two goals against Sunderland and ensuring Man United the victory at the Stadium of Light, however, his spotlight hs never been the same since then.
After Moyes was sacked in 2014 he had fallen further down the pecking order, especially under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, and the Belgian failed to bring to light that form which saw him as a rising star.
He had then failed on loan at Borussia Dortmund, returning at Chrismas, but after trying to score goals from corners whilst playing the United U21 side, now the U23’s, it was clear he had no respect for his opponents.
It could have been a big season for him under Mourinho but he was sent on loan to Sunderland, where he failed to change the mentality of the relegation-threatened side that he was a player destined for greatness with just one goal throughout the season.
With Andreas Pereira performing exceptionally well in La Liga with Granada, it doesn’t look good for him as the Brazillian showed his ability to be included in the pre-season squad with Mourinho.
The fact that he wasn’t in the squad doesn’t look well as it seems his time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.
