Manchester United are expected to complete a move for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic next week, according to Pilib De Brún.
The Croation has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho was expecting to sign him on a cheap while Inter were looking to raise funds and comply with Financial Fiar Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they were expecting to keep hold of their star asset.
Inter put a €50m price tag on Perisic in the hopes that United would be put off a potential deal, with new Inter boss Spaletti unwilling to budge, it seemed like a deal would be impossible, but the winger forced through a move as he was desperate to prove himself in England and play under Mourinho.
A deal is expected to be completed within the upcoming week and Mourinho may ask him to fly to America to meet up with the rest of the players in their current pre-season tour, allowing him to meet the squad ahead of the new season.
The Portuguese boss would have hoped to conclude his business before the window but with Inter playing hardball over Perisic, there’s still plenty of work left to do.
