Ivan Perisic is hoping to join Manchester United this summer and his agent has met with Inter Milan for talks over a move, according to Sky Sports.
They claim Man United are getting closer to completing a deal, even with Inter sticking to their £48m asking price for the Croatia international.
There has been no agreement over a fee between both clubs yet, as United’s most recent offer of around £39m will need to be closer to £45m if they are to secure their target.
He joined up with the rest of the Inter squad at their training camp in the north of Italy and United are working hard to complete a deal before the Serie A club flies to China next week.
Perisic still has three years left on his contract and Inter can’t be forced to sell their star asset, but if Perisic truly wants to leave as he is reportedly desperate to play under Mourinho in England, then it’ll give United the advantage in negotiations.
He’s scored 16 goals in 57 games for his country and 18 goals in 70 Serie A games since joining Inter from German club Wolfsburg two games into the 2015-16 season.
