Victor Lindelof has made his debut for Manchester United in their opening game of the pre-season tour of America against LA Galaxy.
The Swede was introduced at the start of the second-half as Mourinho looked to rotate his players and keep them fit for the remaining busy schedule of fixtures, with some important games coming.
He was calm, composed, and controlled the backline properly and we’ve seen glimpses of why he was nicknamed the Iceman from his time at Benfica.
We’ve really lacked a player like Lindelof at United and although many believed United have a strong defensive line, it was usually because of a number of players that were playing defensively, rather than the ability of our centre-backs.
A player like Lindelof allows other players to push forward and get the ball forward into attacking positions without having to worry about their positions for counter attacks or cover because Lindelof defends his position extremely well and is massively disciplined with his runs.
