Inter Milan sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has played down reports that Ivan Perisic is on the verge of a move to Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho said he has no idea how a deal is progressing, but an agreement for the Croatia winger is said to be very close as he’s been continuously linked with an Old Trafford move all summer.
Perisic is set to travel to China with the rest of the Inter squad on Tuesday if United can not complete a deal with the Italian side.
Speaking about a potential deal for Perisic and Jovetic, Ausilio refused to comment on any transfers.
“Jovetic and Perisic are Inter players and, at the moment, they are not going anywhere,” he said.
United were hoping to reach a fee before the flight to China otherwise he’ll just have to fly back, but it still remains to be seen whether Mourinho will land his target.
The Portuguese boss has been focused on Man United’s pre-season tour of America, opening with wins over LA Galaxy and Real Real Salt Lake, however, Ed Woodward will have been working extremely hard to try and sign Mourinho’s targets.
