LA Galaxy head coach, Curt Onalfo, has opened up about the club’s interest in signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic following his Manchester United departure.
The big Swede scored 28 goals across all competitions last season and Jose Mourinho claimed he could play at Old Trafford again this coming season after his one-year deal expired this summer.
He sustained significant knee ligament damage during United’s 2-1 Europa League win over Anderlecht in April and is unlikely to play again until the new year.
Speaking about a potential deal, Onalfo refused to confirm whether or not the MLS club will attempt to sign him.
“We’re the Galaxy and the DNA of our team is to always attract world class players,” Onalfo said.
“At the same time we’re developing from within but we have to compliment them with world class players so we’re always looking to enhance our team.
“What I will say is that we know he [Ibrahimovic] is world class.”
Zlatan has always been one of my favourite players, not just because he scores goals but because of the way he carries himself, he’s always backed up his words on the pitch and for that reason, I hope he plays at Old Trafford again and sees off his career in a better way.
