Manchester United are very keen to try and wrap up a deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic before the Italian club flies out for their pre-season tour.
James Ducker of The Telegraph leads the reporting about Perisic on Monday night and says the fee will be an initial £39m, rising to £44m with add-ons, which is a fee that more or less reaches Inter’s valuation of £45m they were looking for.
As well as The Telegraph, other major outlets such as ESPN, Daily Mail, The Mirror are all reporting the same story but Simon Stone from the BBC throws some doubt into the mix. Stone reports that Perisic is expected to fly out with Inter Milan for their pre-season tour, something which obviously would stop United from finalising a deal for Perisic.
So, the next 12 hours are considered crucial for United and Perisic. Jose Mourinho wants to get the deal pushed over the line before Inter fly out to China and while it doesn’t mean the move can’t happen if it isn’t finalised in time, it does make it a tougher set of negotiations.
United want to complete the Perisic deal today and move on to the next target but will they be able to? We’ll bring you updates throughout the day on Perisic and fingers crossed some confirmation the transfer has finally been finalised.
