Zlatan Ibrahimovic has stepped up his rehabilitation and showcased his determination to get back to full fitness following his latest Instagram post.
He had not been offered a new Manchester United contract after his current deal expired in the summer but Jose Mourinho has been confident the big Swede will play at Old Trafford again.
The 35-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligaments in the Europa League in April but has since been working very hard on making a return rather than letting an injury rule him out.
The video shows him lifting weights with his injured knee with the caption: “Power is nothing without control.”
It could be a message to Mourinho as the Portuguese boss has claimed he’d like to sign Ibrahimovic once he returns, however, there were fears that he would not be able to return before December.
He is unlike any other 35-year-old as such a career-ending injury would rule many out, but he has a clear determination which has got him so far in his career, and it’s proven that he wants to finish his football career in a happier way.
I’d happily take him back once he’s fully fit, after scoring 28 goals in his debut season, with a good chance that count would have been much higher had he been fit, Zlatan still has so much more to offer.
