Lindelof became the first signing of the window after arriving from Benfica for £31m before Jose Mourinho shook up the football world by luring the Belgian to Old Trafford for £75m.
Jose Mourinho has publicly stated that he expects at least one more addition to arrive before August 31, urging Ed Woodward to speed up the process of securing what will most likely be another defensive midfielder.
Shaw has told MUTV that those who have already arrived are making a seamless transition into life at Man United.
“Romelu and Victor [Lindelof] have settled in very well,” he said.
“It’s good for Rom as he knew a few of the players before he came so it was pretty easy for him to settle and Victor was new to the group but he has settled really well and he’s enjoying it. The main thing now is to build up fitness and make sure everyone is in peak condition for the start of the season.”
Lindelof won’t enjoy the fact that the first notable thing he has done in a Man United shirt is commit a horrifically late tackle to give away a penalty against Real Madrid. But such is the nature of pre-season. The Swede has looked generally comfortable at the back, however, positioning himself well and playing out from the back, but would probably benefit from playing alongside Eric Bailly – the man he will start alongside in the Premier League less than three weeks from now.
Lukaku, on the other hand, has picked up from where he left off at Everton: scoring goals, always with a tangible air of unstoppable menace. The prospect of seeing him at Old Trafford is truly tantalising.
