Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has been working hard on his recovery after being forced off during the side’s draw with Real Madrid in Santa Clara.
He was one of eight substitutions introduced at half-time but was only on the pitch for six minutes after a heavy challenge from Real’s Oscar.
Juan Mata has not played since picking up an ankle injury in the second half of the 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake and they’ve both been training individually at the club’s Georgetown University base in Washington DC.
Mourinho confirmed they would not be back in action for the clash against Barcelona, but believes they’ll available on Sunday if their recoveries go well.
Here’s a look at Herrera working hard to make himself available.
Herrera has been a vital player for United, but he must not rush his rehabilitation to play in the pre-season because the new season is what matters, as United hope to challenge in the Premier League and Champions league.
He’s enjoyed an incredible season under Mourinho so far and hopes are he can continue to build on his career after cementing his place in the side once the Portuguese boss took over.
