It’s clear that he’s become a firm favourite with Jose Mourinho, as the Portuguese boss shut down Galatasaray interest, claiming it’d be easier for the club to try and sign him than Fellaini as he holds a vital role in the team.
The arrival of Nemanja Matic could limit his playing time this season and Fellaini will need to keep playing regular first-team football to lock down a place with Belgium in the World Cup.
He is is out of contract next summer and although Mourinho completely ruled out Galatasaray, Fellaini is not short of admirers.
Fellaini will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January, however, if he’s able to keep playing consistently at Old Trafford, there will be no reason for him to look elsewhere for more regular first-team football.
Although he has come under criticism at Old Trafford, Fellaini has showcased his ability to listen to instructions, which is why the Portuguese boss has ruled out a summer move as he looks to take his side forward in the Champions League and Premier League this season.
