Matic completed a move to Old Trafford reported to be worth £40 million as he hoped to be reunited with former manager Jose Mourinho this summer.
He turned 29 on August 1, on a three-year deal with an option to extend it by a further year after playing 121 Premier League matches for Chelsea, scoring four goals.

He made 30 starts in Antonio Conte’s first season at Stamford Bridge as Cesc Fabregas fell down the pecking order with N’Golo Kante joining the Blues.
The arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko puts Matic’s long-term future at the club in doubt and he’s returned to Mourinho as the Portuguese boss clearly believes in his talent, buying him twice at two separate clubs.
United now have a player who Mourinho requested during his previous spell at Chelsea, and will look to Matic as the Serbian will hope to take control of the midfield with Ander Herrera, offering Paul Pogba the chance to become more creative in his role.
