Watford have made an enquiry over the possibility of taking Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan next season but Jose Mourinho will wait until the UEFA Super Cup clash with Real Madrid before deciding certain outgoings, according to reports.
The 19-year-old, who made his Man United debut back in February 2016, was a regular presence in Man United’s first team last season but only managed three starts in total.
He has impressed against Real Madrid and Valerenga during pre-season and recently remarked that his main goal for next term was to develop further under Mourinho.
But according to the Mail Online‘s Simon Jones, the Dutchman may have his head turned by the opportunity of regular game time at Vicarage Road.
Mourinho clearly hasn’t decided whether he needs Fosu-Mensah next season but his constant presence in the first team last year, along with being handed a new contract, was indeed telling.
That said, the teenager may consider the benefits of joining a club like Watford – a place that has seen the likes of Nathan Ake and Adlène Guédioura benefit from loan spells in the recent past.
Another important factor will be whether Serge Aurier, as reported in France, does indeed become Mourinho’s fourth signing of the summer.
