Inter Milan Sporting Director, Piero Ausilio, has spoken about trying to renew Ivan Perisic’s contract amid Manchester United interest.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho was initially trying to sign him on a cheap with Inter hoping to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they have been keen of keeping hold of their star asset.
The Serie A club have now placed an unjustifiable £50m fee on Perisic’s services and the only way they’d be willing to negotiate is if Anthony Martial is included in the deal.
Speaking about his decision, Ausilio has confirmed Perisic is set for a new deal.
“It is the same thing with Perisic, Renewal for him, we are talking and it is our will to do so,” he said.
“He has three years left on his contract with Inter, but it is only right on our part to recognize his work.”
Mourinho has previously talked about the situation, claiming he could be forced into accepting just three players this summer, but is still hoping the club can complete four.
It remains to be seen whether a deal will be agreed but as it stands it seems like Inter are trying hard to keep hold of him.
