Scott McTominay has expressed his enthusiasm ahead of potentially breaking into the Manchester United first team next season.
The 20-year-old was handed a place in the match-day squad for the final five games of Man United’s 2016/17 campaign, making his debut against Arsenal and starting against Crystal Palace.
He was a regular feature during United’s pre-season tour and claimed his first goal for the senior side during a 3-0 win over Valerenga.
And McTominay has taken to Instagram to express his excitement ahead of what could be a breakthrough season at Old Trafford.
The Scot will receive his chance to mix with the big boys next season. His fluid and yet also disciplined, driven style in midfield has impressed Mourinho, perhaps more than any other youngster, and the Portuguese clearly wants to see how he develops.
But breaching United’s midfield, especially with Nemanja Matic in the side and Marouane Fellaini looking likely to remain at Old Trafford, will be a tall order to say the very least. Opportunities in the League Cup and the dying stages of Premier League games will probably serve as the only avenue through which McTominay can demonstrate his dynamic charm going forward when the heat is on next season.
