Ivan Perisic is on the verge of signing a new deal with Inter Milan, according to reports.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho was looking to sign him on a cheap whilst Inter were looking to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds, they’ve been trying to keep hold of their star asset.
He is valued at around €55 million but Man United have been unwilling to pay that much, with Inter claiming the only negotiation on the price would be if Anthony Martial is included in the deal.
United have been stonewalled by the Nerazzurri and it’s clear they’re looking to keep him after offering him a bumper new contract of around €6 million a year.
He scored 11 Serie A goals last season and is regarded as one of the best wingers in Europe, which is why the Portuguese boss holds such an interest in his services.
Mourinho previously confirmed he was hoping for four new players this summer, but insisted he understands he may have to settle with three due to the current market and it seems he could miss out on a move for Perisic after coming so close to signing him.
