Inter Milan coach, Luciano Spalletti, insists Ivan Perisic is determined to stay at the San Siro next season.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer as Jose Mourinho looked to sign him on a cheap while Inter tried to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they have been intent on tying him down.
Inter have refused to budge from their £48.5 million valuation and have stated the only way the fee will lower is if Anthony Martial is going the other way.
Speaking about a move, Spalletti confirms Perisic is determined to stay ahead of the new campaign.
“Perisic is determined to stay,” he said.
“There was a moment [when he considered moving], but then he spoke like a footballer who is interested in doing the right thing for his professionalism and he drew a conclusion.”
He would have been a brilliant player at United but it seems Inter have stalled a deal to try and keep hold of their star asset.
United have missed out on Perisic but it doesn’t mean they won’t be able to sign someone before the end of the window as there is still time to get a deal over the line.
