Ivan Perisic is closing in on a new contract at Inter Milan this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio claims Man United are yet to meet Inter’s valuation of the winger, as they want £50m or Anthony Martial to join them on loan for the 2017/18 campaign to lower their asking price.
The Portuguese boss initially wanted to sign Perisic on a cheap as Inter looked to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they have been intent on keeping hold of their star asset.
Inter officials have recently come out to state Perisic will be staying at the San Siro ahead of next season and they mesh with Di Marzio’s reports, who claims they are close to reaching an agreement over a new deal.
It’s a shame that a deal didn’t work out but Mourinho knew this could happen, stating two weeks ago that he could be forced into only accepting three new signings rather than the four he had initially hoped for.
