Jose Mourinho is prepared to wait until January before making new signings as he’s decided against funding a move for a fourth summer signing by offloading some players, according to reports.

Manchester United have spent in excess of £160 million by signing Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic but were also linked with Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, although a deal has stalled in recent times.

The Portuguese boss has made it clear he hopes to have four new players this season but could be forced into only accepting three due to the current troubles in the transfer market.

Mourinho has been keen on adding another attacking player to his squad but is aware he’ll have to sell at least one player before making a move for another player.

However, Mourinho is happy with his current squad and is unwilling to upset the harmony of his squad as they’ve started the season well and would rather wait until January before reassessing his options.

And with the United manager reluctant to upset the harmony of his squad, sources have told ESPN FC that Mourinho would now rather wait until January before reassessing his options.

He’s reduced the squad wage bill by around £500,000-a-week, but United have only raised £9.8m in sales this summer from Adnan Januzaj‘s transfer to Real Sociedad.

January exits of Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay to Everton and Lyon respectively raised £50m and we’ll see who Mourinho decides to recruit.
