Manchester United summer target Ivan Perisic is close to signing a new deal at Inter Milan but could make the switch if his valuation is met, according to reports.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looked to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.
However, Mourinho has confirmed his approached was turned down by Inter as they failed to meet the Serie A club’s £48m ($61.8m) valuation of the player, even praising Inter for keeping hold of their key players.
He scored 11 goals and provided as many assists in 36 league games last season and was one of the only bright sparks in a disappointing campaign for Inter.
Perisic has decided to stay at the San Siro and will be signing an extension on his contract that runs until the summer of 2020 if United do not match Inter’s valuation or include Anthony Martial in a swap deal, which has already been ruled out.
Inter manager Luciano Spalletti even confirmed recently that the striker is determined to stay and it seems ike he won’t be leaving unless United pay around €55m.
