Paul Pogba has explained why he’s delighted to be back at Manchester United, claiming he came back from his move to Juventus as a man.
The Frenchman came under heavy criticism last season following his world-record move to Old Trafford of £89 million at the time, however, following the £198 million fee Paris St-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar this summer, Pogba insists he’ll be able to focus on football rather than being judged on a fee.
He’s been incredible at Old Trafford and since the arrival of Nemanja Matic has also been more creative in his role, which is why supporters are expecting a big season from Pogba.
Speaking about his move, Pogba claims he’s adapting to the demands of the Premier League.
“Last season the first question from everyone was always all about the price tag,” he said. “Now everyone is asking about the football. That tells you everything.”
“When I left I always felt like I had missed something at United because I wasn’t a first XI player. Now I’m happy to be back. I grew up a lot in Italy and I have come back as a man.
“I am always confident and now it is my second season. I know more about the Premier League and I adapt more with the team.”
Pogba has been working hard at Old Trafford and it’s clear from his performance in the opening game of the Premier League season that he’s starting the new term the right way.
He capped his impressive performance with a well-deserved goal and hopes are we see him further forward much more this season as he’s definitely got it in his locker.
