Manchester United have not given up on Ivan Perisic as a £39million offer to Inter Milan is still on the table, according to reports.
The Old Trafford side have been trying to sign Perisic all summer as Inter were looking to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they’ve been set of keeping hold of their star asset.
Man United have been put off by Inter’s £48m valuation as the Italian side have only been willing to negotiate if Anthony Martial is included in part of the deal.
He has been edging closer to a San Siro contract, but Ed Woodward is understood to have met Perisic’s agent, Fali Ramadani to help push a deal over the line.
Mourinho has been desperate to complete his fourth signing and believes Perisic is the player to give the side exactly what has been missing.
United have started off well with a 4-0 victory over West Ham in the opening game of the Premier League season but Mourinho believes Perisic is the player that can take the club to a new level, combined with his other three signings.
