Manchester United fans were full of praise for Paul Pogba during their side’s 4-0 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
The Frenchman endured a frustrating start to the game, picking up a yellow card as he struggled to find space, but did well to power a header against the bar that was poked home by Eric Bailly.
And with the brilliant Nemanja Matic keeping things tight further behind, Pogba had the chance to run riot in the second half, producing a wonderful chipped finish for Man United’s third before setting up Anthony Martial to stroke home his side’s eighth goal in two games.
Supporters were understandably quick to shower praise on what was a truly graceful performance from the 24-year-old.
Paul Pogba scores one and assists twice. From nearly being sent off to making a pivotal contribution. £89m? What a BARGAIN.

Pogba is such a baller, man. Incorrectly utilised last season, but thriving this year with more freedom. Will prove all his doubters wrong

Pogba now has 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games.
The Matic Effect.

If anything, Pogba looked more likely to be sent off than score after 30 minutes. Nothing was going his way as Swansea, as expected, packed the midfield early on.
But what followed was an important indication of the sheer guile that accompanies Pogba’s unmistakeable craft. Some would have caved in and made a frustrated challenge, receiving their marching orders in the process, but the Frenchman took control.
And his goal – a chipped finish oozing with class and precision – was a moment that typified the empowering influence of Matic at the base of midfield. How often was Pogba leading attacking moves last season? Hardly ever. This time around, however, he was chief executioner, and it could be a vital difference to how United progress this season.
