Inter Milan manager, Luciano Spalletti, has confirmed Ivan Perisic has not shown any new signs he wants to leave.
The Croatian has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as the Jose Mourinho wanted to sign him on a cheap whilst Inter were trying to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations but once they had raised the funds through a number of smaller deals, it was clear they wanted to keep hold of their star asset.
Man United have been unwilling to pay his valuation and with Inter only looking to negotiate if Anthony Martial is included in the deal, it’s caused the summer transfer to stall.
Speaking about a potential move, Spalletti insisted nothing was moving forward.
“Since the start, the club spoke with Ivan, as did I, he came and told us some things, because you need specific characteristics to stay here,” he said.
“We must all be ready to listen to how everyone else sees things.
“Perisic is a great player, in the vein of Giacinto Facchetti, Javier Zanetti and Marco Materazzi, a leader who gives something more than an individual usually does. After this initial discussion, I never had any more signals of a departure, in training or outside of it.
“Ivan is someone who has his own training schedule after the session is finished, working in the gym, and is one of the most professional players I’ve met.”
Mourinho wanted four new signings in the 2017 summer transfer window but has confirmed he’s willing to move forward without a newcomer.
