Manchester United reject Valencia’s approach to loan Andreas Pereira – report

by Tanveer Arayan

Manchester United have rejected Valencia’s approach to loan Andreas Pereira, according to Plaza Deportiva.

ESPN also claim Pereira is keen to stay at Old Trafford and will seek assurances from Jose Mourinho about his first-team opportunities this season.

The 21-year-old is wanted by the La Liga side after impressing while on loan at Granada last season, showcasing his incredible ability.

He was also included in United’s squad for the pre-season tour this summer but hasn’t made an appearance so far and didn’t even travel to Swansea for the 4-0 win at the Liberty Stadium.

He watched the United under-23s’ 1-1 draw with Swansea from the stands on Monday night and needs to be reassured about his place in the team because there’s no doubting the fact that he has all the right attributes to become a top player.

Pereira was also left out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid and the opening game of the season against West Ham.

He could have easily left to be selfish and pick up more game time, however, it seems like Mourinho has told him he’ll be included in the plans and he’ll be focused on proving himself with the limited opportunities he is provided.
