Jose Mourinho confirmed earlier this month that the club was in talks with the Swede – who has decided to remain at Old Trafford this season – over handing him a new contract after he was released from the club in June.
ESPN’s Andy Mitten confirmed on Sunday that a new contract with the 35-year-old, set to be sidelined through injury until January, could be tied by the end of this week.
And Zlatan has shed further light on his recovery process, asking supporters “which knee” as he pummels a punching bag with some incredible kicks.
Eric Bailly, in response, has posted a video showing him displaying some kicking skills of his own on Zlatan, during which the Swede briefly considers killing him with his bare hands for half a second before deciding against it.

On a more serious note, the fact that Ibrahimovic will sign a contract with United before the period for registration ends on August 31 could suggest that the club expects him to return to action in time to help Jose Mourinho‘s men through what promises to be a hectic Christmas schedule.
Either way, it seems as if Zlatan, step by step, is on route to making an emphatic return in the next few months, giving United another dimension moving forward.
