Paul Pogba believes Manchester United can win the Premier League this season, claiming the side have no reason to be scared of any of their rivals.
Jose Mourinho‘s men currently sit top of the Premier League table having recorded successive 4-0 victories in the opening two games of the new season against West Ham United and Swansea City.
It’s still very early on but it seems for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson‘s retirement, United have an actual chance of sustaining a prolonged title challenge this campaign under the Portuguese boss.
However, Pogba claims United must stay grounded as there is plenty of time to go before the end of the season.
“I’m pleased and happy that we have started really well, but it is not finished yet,” he said. “It is just the start of the season.
“The biggest challengers? We are our own rivals and we think about ourselves first. But we don’t have to be scared of anyone in the league because we know we are a strong team as well. We know we can do great this season.
“I hope [we can win the title]. Every team is strong, like when Leicester won it two years ago and nobody expected it, so you don’t know what’s going to happen.
“We started very well, but we can end up bad and we don’t want this. We want to be focused from game to game.”
He’s started the season well, scoring in both victories against West Ham and Swansea and we’re expecting big things from him after the arrival of Matic.
Pogba has an incredible ability and it seems Jose Mourinho understands having him in more of an attacking role will open him up to doing what he does best, creating chances and scoring goals.
